Modern Expressions of Islamic Art

Bridging the gap between Islamic Heritage and Modernity…

Inspired by the art embodied in Islamic patterns, the masterpieces delivered messages of LOVE, PEACE and HAPPINESS in elegant Arabic calligraphy. A wide range of raw materials were used such as palm fibers, wood and copper metal.

The techniques used ranged from:

  • Quilling paper into Islamic patterns.
  • Stitching on palm fibers.
  • Manipulating copper in calligraphic designs and Islamic patterns.
  • Mixing quilled paper with gouache colours.
  • Using mosaic to form Islamic shapes on wood.
